Spearfishing in Gozo

The Sea Gives.
Take Only What

You Need.

Luke has fished these waters since childhood. He teaches spearfishing the way he learned it — with patience, proper freediving technique and a clear respect for what the sea can sustain.

Our Approach

Respect first.
Skill second. Ego last.

Luke's father handed him his first spear sling at the age of five. The lesson wasn't just how to use it — it was respect for the ocean and appreciation for what it provides.

Everything changed when he trained in freediving. Moving more gently, reaching 15 metres and beyond — suddenly spearfishing became less about chance and more about reading the sea. That’s what we’ll teach at our centre.

Who Is This For?

If you've spent time in the water, you already have a start.

Whether you’re a fish whisperer or a guppie looking to give it a shot, we’re more than happy to guide you through the hunt

Visiting Spearos

You know what you're doing. We know these waters. Conditions, local rules and sites worth your time — all covered before we enter.

Sea-to-Table People

You're curious about where food comes from and what it means to take it from the water yourself. That's a serious reason to be here.

Freedivers Curious About Spearfishing

A natural next step. If you're certified and comfortable in open water, the move to spearfishing is about adding patience, fish knowledge and selective technique.

New to freediving and spearfishing

A freediving course first. Breath-hold, equalisation and open water confidence come before the spear — and they make every dive safer and more rewarding.

What to Expect

Every session runs the same way, for good reason.

We don't improvise safety. Every session follows a clear structure — so everyone is calm, informed and in control before we enter the water.

01

Briefing & Conditions

Site chosen by weather, visibility and species. Local rules reviewed. Personal limits confirmed beforehand.

02

Equipment & Safety

Gear fitted and checked. Buddy system set. Signals agreed. Entry and exit plan clear before anything else.

03

In the Water

Guided session with Luke. Fish identification, approach technique, selective targeting. No pressure, no performance.

04

Debrief

What happened. What to work on. Whether another session makes sense. Honest and calm.

Ready to plan a session? Tell us your experience level and we'll take it from there.

"Unlike many fishing methods, spearfishing is highly selective. You choose your target, take only what you need, avoid bycatch entirely."

Sea to Table

From the ocean
to the table.

There’s nothing more fulfilling than earning your dinner, the hunter-gatherer way! It tastes sweeter, we promise. We enjoy our fish a number of ways, depending of what we’ve caught. Some fish are best barbecued, some best in the oven baked in salt, Mediterranean style. Watch Luke transform into your chef for the night, you wont be disappointed”

Safety & Responsibility

We take the sea seriously so you can enjoy it.

Spearfishing involves breath-holds, depth and sharp equipment. We take this seriously, so that we can enjoy everything else about it

Conditions reviewed before every session. If the sea doesn't cooperate, we reschedule. No exceptions.

Buddy awareness is not optional. Every diver has a buddy. Every buddy knows the plan.

Depth and personal limits agreed beforehand. We don't push anyone past their comfort point.

Equipment fitted and checked. No worn gear, no improvised solutions.

Selective targeting only. Species, size and legal limits confirmed before any shot is taken.
